The State Municipal Codes have been updated with 2014 rates.


Welcome to Berks Earned Income Tax Bureau.

Not only does the start of the new year mean the Act 32 changes go into effect, but it is also a good time to re-evaluate your company's security and user access.
For your protection, Berks EIT would like to take this time to remind employers to review which employees have web access to initiate transactions on our website, and ask that you please notify us in writing if there are any employees whose access should be changed or terminated.

The 2014 Earned Income Tax rates for the City of Reading, PA are as follows:
  • Resident Rate - 3.6% combined
  • Non-Resident Rate - 1.3% combined

The 2013 Earned Income Tax rates for the City of Reading, PA are as follows:
  • Resident Rate - 3.6% combined
  • Non-Resident Rate - 1.3% combined

The 2012 Earned Income Tax rates for the City of Reading, PA are as follows:
  • Resident Rate - 3.4% combined
  • Non-Resident Rate - 1.1% combined

New Act 32 Information

Berks EIT Bureau is in the process of notifying employers of the upcoming changes being mandated by Act 32 that must be implemented by January 1, 2012. If you do not receive our notification by December 20, 2011, please contact our office.

Mini-Seminars Now Available Online
Berks County Earned Income Tax Bureau recently presented a series of mini-seminars in Reading, on the changes Pennsylvania Act 32 will have on employers filing Earned Income Taxes in Berks County.

What's New

05/04/2012: For your convenience, Berks EIT has enhanced our Online ACH Debit Payment system to accept payments for Business Privilege Tax and Business Privilege Licenses in addition to Earned Income and Local Services Taxes.

11/02/2011: The Pennsylvania Local Income Tax Exchange (PALite) system allows taxpayers to prepare thier 2011 Individual Tax return online, for submission directly to the Berks EIT Bureau.

  • City of Reading levies non-resident Distressed Commuter Tax
  • Following Federal and State Guidelines, the deadline for filing your 2011 Individual Earned Income Tax return has been extended to April 17, 2012

File Uploads
